The NY Giants Club "Embrace the Grind" here in The Villages
The NY Giants Club is growing by leaps and bounds and Happy Villager was honored to be invited to yet another big gathering as they met, where they do every month, in the Lake Miona Rec. Center. Joe Kelly (The President) shared with us the the bonds he carries with his die hard NY Giants fans "Most of us have been Giants fans our whole lives!" he shares as he prepares for this months meeting. "We have so much fun each month, we offer great opportunities to get out and enjoy the team that we love so much. From watching Games in Brownwood at Cody's or Gators Dockside to bussing together for local games we truly try to make this a really interesting and active club."
Nick Scotto says "It's a wonderful club, I have been a member for about a year and really enjoy the people. That is what is great about The Villages, there are truly great people here. I enjoy the 50/50's, the trivia games, the speakers, this is an all around great club."
The NY Giants club boasts over two hundred members and has been holding strong for about 2 years now. To help give back, they actively work to raise monies for injured veterans. Meetings are held the third Wednesday of every month and are open to all NY Giants Fans. "At only $10 a year this club is very affordable, it truly is about building commradery" states Ron St. Pierre of The Village of Charlotte.
6:30pm The club commences and Joe Kelly stands front and center of roughly ONE HUNDRED club members ready to hang out together within their common enjoyment. They start with The Pledge of Allegiance and pretty much summarize last months meeting. Speakers are often present and sometime he mixes it up and will have a random entertainer (not to far back they even had a magician). The Speaker for October was Seneca McMillian retiree of the Green Bay Packers and the Vice President of the NFL Alumni Central Florida Chapter. MicMillian also mentioned he is in training to be an NFL Official. The attention and focus is noticed as the Speaker discusses rules, officiating, and shares NFL exciting details, and other insider secrets. Questions and answers are always fun with an NFL great!
