Have you met... The Crafty and Talented Mary Soares


Mary Soares has a dazzling personality, a matter of fact way of speaking about the things she believes in and a wonderful back story to bring it all together. Living in The Villages Florida for several years now she has sure settled in to her own niche and it would surprise you to know the many talents her hands are in to.

Originally from California she lived all over the United States through her career in banking and ended up in Denver Colorado. Mary went on a vacation to The Bahamas in her 40’s and there she met and fell in love with her now husband Wayne. A passionate and busy woman from the States she then moves with her new husband to his hometown on the small island of Bermuda. Mary loved Bermuda and the British Island way of life. Her husband being a lifelong sail boat enthusiast, they spent their weekends on the boat, now she comes happily to retirement to from that life and her job at the Bank of Bermuda. Being avid lovers of golf, they were watching the golf channel when they first heard of The Villages, Florida. Drawn to the beauty and active lifestyle that The Villages offers they came to the decision that this is where they really want to be. In no time they were packing and so where several of their friends and family members, ready to make their move to The Villages.

Mary dotes about all the clubs and activities that The Villages offers stating “if you are bored here and have nothing to do, that is your own fault because there is plenty of fun to be had here, you just have to put yourself in it!” That she does. Aside from the numbers of clubs that she and her husband are in, she also keeps herself happy and busy with all the fun hobbies that she loves. Hand Painted wine glasses rest neatly on her shelves, sewing projects, handmade cards, gift basket supplies and so much more adorn her craft room (which is like a beautiful home office that could describe her just by walking in!).

Taught by her mother, Mary has been sewing since she was ten years old and she is currently teaching her ten-year-old granddaughter to do the same. She has handmade wedding dresses for clients and has also made clothes for fashion shows. Whether painting, sewing or interior decorating, she is truly a crafty and talented woman. She is constantly bringing her talents into others’ lives by selling or giving away so many of her beautiful creations.

Mary also has a passion for healthy eating and healthy living. A proud and avid distributor for Norwex cleaning tools and products she details the importance for keeping your home chemical free. “Once I realized how many chemicals we introduce to our home and our loved ones and that there is a product line out there that aims to rid ourselves of these harmful chemicals and they actually work, I realized that everybody needs to have the opportunity to be able to have access to these.” She presents her items in showroom style with determination and truth. “We actually have items to clean your entire home with water alone! I was so excited when a friend of mine left me with some of these products for the weekend, I was literally trying to clean anything that I could get my hands on. When my friend returned after three or four days I told her I am keeping these and I want to be a part of this!”

She eats clean too! “My husband and I buy organic as often as we can.” She says as she mentions the fruits and veggies pertaining to keeping up a healthy raw diet. The energy and vitality is apparent as she talks with us about her various endeavors and the amount of time she spends with her family and friends.

It isn’t hard to see that if you haven’t met Mary Soares yet, you are missing out. She is right here in your hometown and is a visionary when it comes to building relationships. She doesn’t miss a beat either. Whether it’s her Send Out Cards, a gift basket, a handmade gift or a business card one thing is certain, you will be hearing from her one way or another.
